Training of personnel in the tourism industry
On April 28, 2022, the Mayor's Office of Nur-Sultan organized a meeting on the topic "Training in the tourism industry" to discuss issues of professional training and current problems of qualification and retraining programs for specialists in the tourism industry.
To date, specialists in the field of tourism are trained in five universities and 11 colleges of Nur-Sultan. According to the head of the Department for Investment and Entrepreneurship Development of Nur-Sultan Yerzhan Baltayev, training is underway in the management of tourism, hotel and restaurant businesses. However, there is an acute shortage of specialists in the MICE industry (business tourism), event management, guides, guides, as well as artisans.
Considering the fact that the city of Nur-Sultan positions itself as a future event hub of business tourism and the meetings industry, the development of this industry requires personnel who not only know and understand the industry, but also speak a foreign language at a professional level.
The meeting was attended by members of the Committee of the Tourism Industry of the ISS RK, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC "NC "Kazakh Tourism", representatives of large tour companies, hotel business, business associations, RCE "Atameken" and educational institutions.
