Kazakhstan is preparing to host the XVII interregional forum of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia in Kokshetau
According to the proposal of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev, the main theme of the forum in 2020 will be cooperation in the field of ecology and green growth.
The planned dates of the event are November 12-13th. According to the President, due to the pandemic, the format of the forum has not yet been determined, but the meeting of the leaders should take place.
The Kazakh-Russian interregional forum is an effective platform for strengthening bilateral relations, diversifying business contacts, and communication between government and business representatives of the two countries.
The first interregional forum was held in Omsk in 2003, attended by the first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and the head of Russia, Vladimir Putin. Since then, it has become a tradition for the leaders of the two countries to meet once a year in one of the border regions.
