On December 22, the Eurasian tourism association, within the framework of the MOST project "Model for sustainable tourism in Central Asia: capacity-building, awareness-raising, technology implementation", which is the project of Switch Asia, EuropeAid, held a round table on the topic "Environmental certification procedures and sustainable tourism management issues, challenges and expectations at the national level”.
This event was attended by the leaders of the tourism industry, associations, universities, hotels, tourism, and consulting companies, professionals and experts in the field of ecology, as well as the heads of the Latvian CountryTourism Association.
On behalf of Astana Invest, The Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of "Astana Invest" Askar Adambekov and Director of the Department of the tourism infrastructure development Sayat Kusainov took the part.
Results: the need for implementation of environmental certification in the tourism industry and regulatory legal and financial support from the state was identified.
Moreover, the participants emphasize the importance of taking measures to increase the level of environmental awareness among the population, to disseminate information about the environment and methods of protection.
