Dear colleagues,
Today we would like to give some information that will be helpful if you are planning a trip to Kazakhstan.
Effective January 1, 2022, Kazakhstan resumed a visa-free regime for citizens of 54 countries (previously it was suspended until 31.12.2021 by the RoK Government Resolution). Explore more about Kazakhstan visas on the official page of www.visitnursultan.kz.
Visa is not required for citizens of countries with which Kazakhstan has concluded bilateral agreements on mutual visa-free travel. In other cases, foreign citizens need a visa to enter the Republic of Kazakhstan depending on the purpose of visit and duration of stay.
However, it is important to note that foreigners still need permission from the Interdepartmental Commission to enter the country. The exception is for citizens of countries that have resumed direct regular flights with Kazakhstan.
Regarding the period of stay. Citizens of the above-mentioned 54 countries can stay in Kazakhstan without visas for up to 30 calendar days at each entry. At the same time, even though the number of visits is unlimited, a total period of stay without a visa should not exceed 90 calendar days within 180 days.
Effective January 15, 2022, all passengers (including vaccinated) arriving in Kazakhstan must provide a PCR certificate with negative results for COVID-19 not exceeding 72 hours since material selection. Children under 5 years old do not require a PCR certificate.
Please note that foreign citizens are not required to observe the self-isolation regime upon arrival in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
