Swiss university students are in Astana Convention Bureau

Nur-Sultan is the city of the future, the city of new opportunities and knowledge; it is aimed to become a significant and important place on the world map. Now Nur-Sultan is a platform not only for the development of industry and investment but also for serious researchers and interested guests.

On June 3, the Astana Convention Bureau team met with the group of students from the HTW Chur Swiss University of Applied Sciences, under the leadership of the Director of the Institute for Tourism and Leisure - Professor Dr. Thorsten Merkle. The team explores the potential of the city of Nur-Sultan in the field of MICE tourism and within the framework of their project organized a visit to Kazakhstan to meet with important industry stakeholders, such as NC Kazakh Tourism, ACT Kazakhstan tour agency, Marriott and Hilton hotels, and others. Also, at the beginning of their study week, they visited “Kazakhstani Switzerland” - the Burabay resort, where they could get acquainted with local lifestyle and scenic nature.

It was interesting to talk with future specialists of hospitality and tourism in Switzerland, to discuss trends and directions for the development of tourism in Kazakhstan, as well as to exchange ideas on possible solutions to current problems.
