New "Open Sky" agreement

On January 6, 2020, Kazakhstani Minister of Industry and Infrastructural Development Beibut Atamkulov and the U.S. Ambassador to Kazakhstan William H. Moser signed the Air Transport Agreement.

This Air Transport Agreement refers to the "Open sky" regime, which allows airlines to make commercial decisions based on market demand, without intervention from government regulators. It includes unrestricted capacity, frequency of services, and a liberal charter regime.

It will create new opportunities for airlines, travel companies, and customers. Air carriers will be able to provide more affordable, convenient, and efficient air services to consumers and producers, promoting travel and trade.

It commits both governments to high standards of aviation safety and security ❗️
