On February 28, 2024, at the premises of the State Enterprise "National Institute of Intellectual Property" (Qazpatent), a round table on the theme "Franchising as a tool for the development of small and medium-sized businesses" was organized by Qazpatent in cooperation with the franchise packaging company "FRANCHDAY.COM". The event was attended by representatives of LLP "Astana Development Center", JSC "Center for Trade Policy Development "QazTrade", JSC "Damu" Fund, the "Central Asia Association of Franchise" (CAAF), the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), as well as patent attorneys of the Republic of Kazakhstan and representatives of domestic business.

During the round table, issues related to legislation and franchise development tools, registration of franchise agreements in the State Registers of Industrial Property Objects at Qazpatent, as well as the creation of a national registry of Kazakhstani franchises and accreditation of international franchises were discussed. Investment preferences for Kazakhstani franchisors and franchisees were also reviewed.
Special attention was paid to the topic "Registration of the franchising agreement in Kazakhstan", presented by Asemgul Kaziyea – Head of the Department of State Registers, Publication, and Registration of Contracts for the Disposal of Rights to Industrial Property Objects at Qazpatent.Representatives of domestic companies such as KDL "OLIMP", "GLOBAL COFFEE", "ZEBRA COFFEE", "INVICTUS", shared practical experience in implementing the franchising model.

Concluding the event, the round table moderator, Deputy Director of Qazpatent Aisha Jumabekova, summarized the discussion and thanked the speakers and attendees for their active participation.

Participants of the round table expressed their gratitude to Qazpatent for providing the venue and expressed a wish for further development of the dialogue in this direction.
